Newborn Intensive Care
In this unit, infants’ thermal needs are met, they are protected from infection, and they are provided with adequate nutrition and weight gain. The purpose of all this is to provide the baby with an environment similar to that of the mother’s womb in the incubator. In this way, the unit deals with diseases that affect newborns. Infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit undergo examinations such as function tests of various organs, blood gases, chest X-ray, CRP and cultures, and infection assessments, and these examinations are followed up at regular intervals.
